Incubating an egg means, taking a day off of its countdown. It does not change an egg's age (it may still be so young that it gets sick from just a handful of views), and it does not get a freshly-caught caveborn egg out of its 5-hour cooldown period earlier. It only allows your egg to reach the 4-day mark earlier, at which point it can hatch if the stats are sufficient.
Now to incubate, you need a Red dragon. You can find them in hot areas, like the desert and the volcano. Supposedly, they sometimes also show up at the coast.
Their description reads: "This egg is rather warm."
No other dragon currently shares this description, so when you see it, just grab it. Of course, other dragon owners might also just breed you one; their lineage has no influence on their ability.

The fastest way to find your adult Red dragon is by using the Filter By box right above your dragons, on the left side:
If you sort by breed (the drop-down box in the right corner above your dragons), you find available Red dragons right below Purples, and before Vampires.
Click Actions next to your Red dragon, then at the bottom of its Actions page, click "Incubate."
You will be presented with a list of your unfogged eggs, including unbreedables. Just click the egg you want to hatch earlier. If an egg has its timer below 3 days, you won't get a link for incubating, instead it will be listed with "not enough time" next to it. If otherwise an egg has already been incubated, the list will say so.
As usual, you will have to confirm your desire first by entering your password or the action name, depending on your account settings, and then again by confirming the little javascript popup.
If all is well, you're done!
Your Red dragon will have to cool down for 2 weeks (14 days down to the minute) before it can incubate again. Keep that in mind when planning for holiday breedings and releases!
